We offer help and hope regardless of race or religion, offering a "hand-up" and not a "hand-out" - because we care!
THE CRADLE OF HOPE is an independent, social upliftment, job creation and skills development organisation, that renders assistance to "missionary" and "outreach" projects, as well as underprivileged and destitute people, focusing mainly on women and children.
We strive to always act in honour of our Creator and to be transparent at all times. We are not affiliated to any specific church or political party. We are purely children of God who are helping others.
The Birth of The Cradle of Hope
Slogan: “COMPASSION WITHOUT BORDERS”
The Cradle of
Hope was
founded after a married couple, Albertus and Melodie van Brakel,
mentioned their vision to their close friend, Henry Albertyn.
Realising that they shared a common ideal to uplift the
underprivileged, particularly destitute women and children, they
discussed the matter with close family and friends.
Much to their surprise many of these people also felt the desire to
reach out to others.
Henry, Albertus and Melodie then set up a meeting for Saturday, 15 March 2008 and invited all their friends and family members who had shown an interest in their project to attend. THE CRADLE OF HOPE was born.
FUNDING
The Cradle of Hope
does not receive any financial support, in whatsoever form, from
Government or any other funding institutions, whether it be grants or
subsidies. It operates entirely on the goodwill and donations
from individual donors and organisations that support our vision,
mission, objectives and upliftment programmes.
We supplement these donations through our own inspired fundraising
efforts, by organising golf days, markets, shows, etc.
Funds
generated in this way unfortunately do not keep up with the demand as
poverty increases and more support is required as the good news of the
good deeds of The Cradle
of Hope spreads.
The objective of this document is to introduce you to The Cradle of Hope,
how and where we operate and to respectfully request your financial, or any other
support to enable us to continue on our path of compassion
without borders.
